WIN Communications CHURCH PLANTING
A Ministry of Writers Information Network to Missions in India through Writing and Education

New Jerusalem Ministries (NJM) is a faith-based ministry started in the year 1996. It is established with an aim to spread Gospel in un-reached areas and vulnerable sections both rural and urban slums of Andhra Pradesh. NJM has focused on Church planting and Discipleship training programmes in order to reach out to the unreached.

To date: NJM has planted twelve Churches and Eight prayer cell groups in various villages and urban slums; Raised ten Pastors; all of them are working with us.

During the course of time it was felt that there is greatest need to work with children also (especially children at risk), NJM has been running various activities for children at risk: Orphans, Regular School going children.

Children Bible Clubs:

At present we are having 15 clubs in various Schools, Churches and Hostels.  The club consists of children getting leadership skills and they are mentored and trained to live out Biblically. In turn these students teach the gospel to other classmates in their respective schools. These clubs run once a week through out the entire year.

One-day Retreats:

These retreats are conducted quarterly in different new areas with a target of 100 children per retreat. Children at these retreats come from various faiths, cultures and traditions and backgrounds.

Four-day camps:

Four-day camps take place once a year during holidays (September/October/March to May) on large scale. Main aim of the camps is to win souls at young age and further make them Solders of Christ. This Four-day camp targeted mainly to children who have already attended one-day retreat and the members of children clubs, Sunday schools and others.   Note: One-day and Four day retreat programmes consist of Bible lessons, missionary stories, Memory verses, new songs, film shows, puppet shows, skits, competitions, Testimony sharing, games and etc. together with food and fun. These activities are carried out by our trained volunteers, school teachers and young pastors.

Teacher training programmes:

Training program is conducted once a year to the teacher volunteers and young pastors. During the training sessions participants are reviewed first and equipped with update knowledge and teaching skills.

CHILDREN'S HOME: ASHIRWAD (means BLESSING)

While working with rag picker’s (trash picker’s) communities, it is observed that due to risky lifestyle of the parents, their children are being neglected and becoming orphans and semi-orphans. Because of this, these children are also getting involved in rag- picking, becoming delinquent. Some of these children are also addicted to drugs, alcohol and are exploited by the adults. By keeping this in view “NJM" has started “Children's Home" With an aim to rescue, bring the children to mainstream and repatriate them into the society with dignity.  “Ashirwad” provides food, Shelter, Clothing, Medicines, Education, Recreation, Spiritual Counseling, and also help in acquiring income generating trainings.

Formal Schools:

St John’s Grammar School is formal school started with an aim to provide quality and English medium education at low cost/ free to un-privileged and poor children(Rag pickers children) currently in small-rented premises. 180 children are in the school at Nandanavanam Colony slum.

St Paul's Mission School: St.Pauls Mission school is also a formal school started with same vision for rural Tribal children, where 75 children are being giving free education. At Annojiguda Village in Ghatkesar mandal, ranga reddy District.

Bridge School and Evening Tuitions with one-time meals:

Presently NJM is managing two Evening time, Non-formal Bridge Schools for school dropouts and working children (children involved in child labor). Majority of the children attending these centers are school dropouts and children whose survival is on picking waste material on roads (rag pickers). At our centers these children get free food every day along with education and Bible stories.
